Video Anywhere

Video Anywhere: This industry-funded project researches the issues related to management of video in embedded (e.g., cable set top) system running a Java Virtual Machine. It fits into the exciting and fast evolving interactive TV and video application market-place. It involves research in understanding metadata and consumer profile, caching, crawling (using agent technology), etc. Current prototype of this system can be seen as a Web-based search engine for accessing a variety of video assets including streaming videos on the Web, premium TV programming, and local video (such as on DVDs).
